What is Wright’s Accident Insurance?
Wright’s Accident Insurance is also commonly referred to as Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance. It is supplemental insurance coverage that provides benefits to your beneficiary if you die as the result of a covered accident — or to you if you suffer a covered dismemberment.
Will I be approved for this accidental death insurance coverage?
You cannot be turned down for coverage if you are a Current/Retired Federal Employee between the ages of 18 and 70 regardless of your health. You will not need to answer any questions about your health or your current financial status at any time during the application process.
Will my Wright Accident Insurance rates increase as I get older?
No. Rates will not increase as you age. Rates will increase only if changed on a class-wide basis. Initially, rates are guaranteed not to change until March 1, 2014.
When is my Wright Accident Insurance coverage effective?
On the first of the month following approval of coverage (assuming premium payment is made at time of enrollment).
Does Wright’s Accident Insurance replace my current life insurance?
No. This insurance pays benefits regardless of any other policies you have and supplements your existing coverage. It makes a good addition to any other kinds of insurance you have and is an inexpensive way to add coverage for accidental death and dismemberment. With Wright’s Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance, you can add up to $500,000 to the total you leave your family if you should die in a covered accident while this coverage is in force.
Can I cover my family members also?
Yes, your spouse and dependent children are eligible for coverage when you become insured under this policy.
Does my coverage automatically decrease at a certain age?
Yes. Coverage reduces to 65% of the initial sum insured at age 70, to 45% at age 75, and terminates at age 80.
